Graduate Students Read Joyce on the Eve of the Ulysses Centenary

Carl Olson

Bridgewater State University

Carl Olson is in the first year of his Master’s in English at Bridgewater State University. His field of interest includes queer studies, writing center studies, film, and rhetoric and composition. Currently, he works as a professional writing tutor and a manager in the Academic Resource Center at Massasoit Community College. He is enrolled in Dr. Ellen Scheible’s class “Irish Literature from James Joyce to Sally Rooney.”

Jasmine Revels

Bridgewater State University

Jasmine Revels is pursuing a second master’s degree at Bridgewater State University, particularly in English, and is in the process of completing her thesis. She is a native of Los Angeles, California, where she completed her undergraduate and first master’s degrees and currently resides. She is an aspiring college counselor and professor. Some of her interests include 19th century Russian and British literature, 20th century American literature, student engagement and success, and international travel. 

Saide Harb-Ranero

Bridgewater State University

Saide Harb-Ranero is in the first year of her Master’s in English at Bridgewater State University. Saide grew up in Lebanon where life was stable until the civil war broke out in her city Byblos in 1989. She is a fiction writer and her most recent work includes a historical fiction novel “Not a Victim” which is a story of a girl named Marie who was born in a fictional city in Lebanon called Qirya. Saide is enrolled in Dr. Ellen Scheible’s class “Irish Literature from James Joyce to Sally Rooney.”
